Dare to be great. Those are the words instilled in pop singer, songwriter, and performer LEX by her father. Those words are emblazoned on her license plate, and etched on her soul.

Fueled by this spirit, LEX has garnered some prime accolades nationally for a young unsigned artist, including charting in the Billboard Top 40 Pop Indicator Chart at age 15 in 2012. Her music is broadly resonate because it melds real life experiences and raw emotionality with an infectious blend of dance beats, energetic hooks, and pop-rock guitars. When LEX isn’t onstage, you can find her doing great things giving back through many charitable pursuits.

“My message is dare to do something great,” she affirms. “Dare to put everything into something you love and not wait for it to be handed to you.”

Most recently LEX has had success with the 2016 singles “Stupid For You” and “Bringing Me Back To You.” The former track has the distinction of being a “Most Added track at radio,” eventually spending 22 weeks on FMQB A/C Top 40 charts, peaking at #9. The latter track made playlists across Europe, becoming a fixture on radio from Ireland to Slovenia. Other career highlights have been working with a bevy of esteemed creative collaborators, select marquee names include Grammy-winning artist Jamie Jones (All For One), the Heavyweights, Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Rodney Alejandro, songwriter Sarah deCourcy (Kylie Minogue, LittleMix), Ben Sargeant (The Script), and Richard Furch (Chrisette Michele, Prince). LEX has been awarded Music Connection Magazine’s “Top 100 Unsigned Artist of 2016.”

The prodigiously gifted performer first dazzled audiences at age 7, singing lead backed by a 60-piece adult choir for a holiday church performance. She later honed her talent with vocal lessons, and through the guidance of industry veteran Rodney Alejandro, who remains an artistic and nurturing ally to her to this day. At just 14 she held her own performing alongside icon Raven-Symoné.

One of LEX’s most formative entertainment biz experiences was gigging regularly at Circus Circus in Las Vegas. The fickle nature of the audience, and the chaotic environment made it something of a performance boot camp. “My goal there was to make people who were not necessarily there to see me, stop and check out my performance. I learned to be in the moment, and motivate the audience,” she says.

Since then, LEX has owned stages small and large, mesmerizing audiences with her charisma, sensuality, and uplifting presence. She’s shared the stage with a diverse array of artists; select highlights include The Wanted, Karmin, Cody Simpson, Charice, and Mindless Behavior. In addition, she’s performed at the halftime show for UNLV’s basketball team, and sang the “National Anthem” for the Phoenix Suns.

Her most current singles, “Stupid For You” and “Bringing Me Back To You,” fizz over with sticky sweet hooks, tension-building climaxes, and rousing dance club grooves. Within this pop context, LEX showcases a dynamic expanse as a vocalist shifting from delicate sensual low tones to skyward high tones with panache and passion. LEX favors lyrics with sass and sincerity. This pair of singles bookend a relationship, showcasing two sides of impulsive love—the payoff of taking a chance and being open to new adventures, and the unhealthy side of returning to a hurtful situation despite your better senses.

LEX is currently working on new music for fall 2017. A sneak peak at her new body of work reveals a darkly glamorous aesthetic. Here, her signature sublime pop melodicism and universally poetic lyrics are cast amidst an atmospheric setting with artful electro touches and brooding beauty ambience.

With being three for three—charting with every single she’s released so far—LEX is poised to have a very promising career. Mulling it all over, she says: “I want to prove that, if you live by your goals, you can make it. I want my music to make an impact and inspire people, especially young girls so that they can be strong and independent.”
